My iPod Nano arrived today.

I've barely touched it since I've been hella busy coding a program to multiply large matrices for uni. But it's here, and now that I've finished up coding for the night, I'm going to have a little play :)

I bought it directly from Apple to take advantage of their student discount, free shipping and free laser engraving. Which is pretty jolly fine of them, if you ask me.

As per the tradition, pics of my shiny, glowy, new apple gear will follow sometime soon.

okay here's the rundown:

was at AGMF from Thursday to Monday. Monday evening I did a rather large AGMF wrap but I was a silly head (in many more ways than one) and ended up losing that... somewhere... and not even a memory dump could find my lost post. So... you'll have to live without that as well. I know I know... I'm cut too - I even included *formatting* but you know, I'm just too lazy to write it out again. So I'll summarise it all in one line very quickly just now instead:

So now that that's done, here's what else I've been up to.

I watched the whole season of Firefly and then Serenity (the movie) the other day. Which was jolly good. That was Tuesday, an official überveg day, which is a word I invented to describe what I did... which was veg out... a lot.

And then hmm what else... yesterday I worked on Blogurk. And I did some of that today. Enough in fact that I have reached my Blogurk 0.5 milestones and this very afternoon I rolled the release. MY FIRST PUBLIC RELEASE. Which is Very Exciting! But I've been telling people about that all evening, so I'm kinda over it. Stay tuned for more!

And I played two games of netball this evening, somehow smashed my right knee (though I'm not quite sure how or when, though it was during the first game) which I sure will be rather painful and stiff tomorrow morning. And my hands are all gumby but yeah you get that. Oh yes and today was Mumsie's birthday. We went out to lunch and by gosh it was nice. I didn't even eat anything after that... I still felt full during netball and I'm still full now. So I ate quite a lot. Anyway...

Happy Birthday Mumsie! And Hitler.

And just in case I miss it, happy birthday for tomorrow The Queen!

So that's pretty much everything covered. G'night.

Bright and early on a Monday morning, and where else would I be?

Well, in bed preferably - but no such luck today. I'm in early to do some cramming before my exam which is in... half an hour. One of two exams today.

And of course, I've got my csse project due tomorrow at 8am. Most of the stuff is done but I doubt we'll get it all 100% working. Needless to say, when I not cramming for exams today, I'll be up in the lab working on that.

And of course, then I've got a crapload of documentation to do for it... so bugger going home to stay up all night doing that - I'll spend the night here! (Which, for those of you who didn't already know, isn't a highly unusual thing for a csse student).

I have done something I never thought I would do.

You know, I always thought that the classic start menu would work better for me. For the best part of 3 years of using XP, I stuck with the classic start menu because frankly, I found it more customisable and less gimmicky.

But, finally, I have changed over to the XP Start Menu.. and I love it! Now that I actually use it, I'm finding that it is actually highly customisable, and it just works better and looks nicer.

Man... I can't believe it took me three years to decide I wanted to use it!

well what do you know... my onboard NIC isn't fried after all. You know, despite the fact that I became unable to access two different computer on the same switch at the same time, I didn't even think to run an isolation test on the network hardware.

Until a few minutes ago. And what do you know? The switch was frozen, so to speak. One power cycle and we're back in business.

So there ya have it. Onboard NIC = working :D

I can hardly believe I didn't work this one out straight away :/
